Camino Nuevo fire-hit families get financial aid

In line with its continuous social welfare programs, the city government Monday, March 11, released financial assistance to 210 families displaced by the August 20, 2023 fire incident at Tambucho Drive, Camino Nuevo.

Mayor John Dalipe together with Vice Mayor Josepine Pareja and City Social Welfare Officer Socorro Rojas supervised the payout held at the Camino Nuevo barangay hall, as he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to help residents displaced by calamities as well as the marginalized sector.

The cash assistance released was in addition to the relief assistance and other forms of aid that the city government provided to the affected families immediately after the incident.

The cash aid depended on the classification of house ownership as well as the damage incurred during the fire incident. For totally damaged houses, owners were entitled to P5K each; sharers, caretakers and renters got P3K each while boarders received P1.5K each. For partially damaged houses, owners got P3K each; sharers, caretakers and renters were entitled to P2K each while boarders received P1K each.

Also present during the payout at the Camino Nuevo barangay covered court were Executive Assistant Amado Natividad, Jr., barangay officials led by Chair Antonio Deles and CSWDO and City Treasurer’s Office staff. (with reports from April Araneta)
